SEISMIC UPGRADE AND STATIC ADJUSTMENT TO WOODEN STRUCTURES OF THE OLD STABLES – VOLTA MANTOVANA

SEISMIC UPGRADE AND STATIC ADJUSTMENT TO WOODEN STRUCTURES OF THE OLD STABLES – VOLTA MANTOVANA

Performance: Project Design

The project carried out on the stable building attached to the Gonzaga Cavriani Palace in Volta Mantovana resulted in a seismic improvement combined with an overcoming of the static criticalities of the wooden elements.

In particular, the seismic improvement involved the construction of a floor frame made with metal elements to better distribute the seismic actions on the vertical structural elements of competence.

The static adaptation of the existing wooden beams was carried out by always laying metal elements in order to create new composite reticular beams capable of withstanding the loads required by law according to the intended use of the spaces.
